Melatonin (called the night hormone) is a hormone that regulates and controls a person's sleep pattern. It is released mainly in the brain during the hours of darkness. Melatonin secretion is low during the day; it begins to increase late in the evening and reaches its highest level during the night hours of 02-04, and decreases early in the morning.

Melatonin secretion varies between age groups and individuals. In adults, the rhythm of melatonin secretion does not change, but the concentration of melatonin decreases during the night hours. In elderly people, there is no difference between nighttime and daytime melatonin concentrations in the body.

A slow-release melatonin tablet
Unital Long Night tablets are different from regular tablets. A special Unital Long Night tablet slowly releases melatonin into the stomach and intestines. The pill releases melatonin for 4 hours, giving melatonin a longer effect during the night and thus causing a greater effect than a regular pill.
